Carlos Díez Rodríguez, Director of IE University Talent & Careers, shares that the whole IE University community is “delighted to see that our graduates are in strong demand in the labor market.” In fact, 95% of students from the Class of 2019 who were looking for a job report that they are currently employed. What’s more, many of them have launched their professional journey at some of the world’s most well-known companies and organizations, including Google, LG, Philips and Banco Santander.
While the financial and consulting sectors are where most graduates have decided to take their professional talents, 8% of the Class of 2019 have joined or launched a startup. This is an increase from last year’s class, and highlights how far our students can go with their strong entrepreneurial and innovative mindset.
Regardless of the career path they wish to pursue, the mindset of every student is enhanced by IE University’s emphasis on globalization throughout their academic journey. As they learn and gain experiences alongside a diverse group of faculty and peers, the Class of 2019 recognizes that these international insights have played a key role in the success they enjoy today.
As part of this Career Report, Talent & Careers sat down with graduates to hear firsthand what they thought about this diversity. As Lucia Bascuñana—graduate of the Bachelor in Business Administration and Analyst at Cinven Private Equity—highlights, “Thanks to the international, diverse environment at IE University, I’ve been able to adapt to the culture of a multinational firm.” In fact, the report shows that within six months of completing their academic journey, there are IE University graduates working on every continent. More than 10% of them have found careers outside of Europe.
Ranked by Times Higher Education as the top university for employment in Spain, and number seven throughout the whole of Europe, IE University puts an unparalleled focus on academic excellence. Now a marketing assistant at CBRE in Toronto, Carmen Pearce shares that the courses and professors at IE University have helped her to “always think outside the box and approach problems from new angles.”

Along these lines, Rodrigo Ortiz and Sebastian Arnold—graduates of the Dual Degree in Business Administration and Laws—capitalized on their shared future-forward, entrepreneurial mindset to found Parius. They have created this platform to help consumers more effectively resolve conflicts with companies.
