IE University has launched an ambitious, internationally focused Bachelor of Laws, and we couldn’t be more excited. In developing this new and exciting program, IEU has been working to strengthen an existing partnership with Northwestern University in order to provide students with the opportunity to study a J.D. in the United States. We are also pleased to announce that IEU will again be participating in Law Without Walls at Harvard University, as well as at the Human Rights Moot Court Competition in Strasbourg.
Study a J.D. at Northwestern University
By forging relationships with prestigious organizations across the globe, the Bachelor of Laws (LL.B.) at IEU allows graduates to develop a career in law in different countries. Our relationship with Northwestern University, a private university in Illinois known for its academic excellence, allows students to study a J.D. at one of the best universities in the United States.
Both IEU and Northwestern University are recognized internationally as some of the best legal educational institutions. An education from these universities will put you on the fast-track to success in your future career as a legal professional. These pioneering programs meet the growing demand for cross-border legal professionals by achieving a deep understanding of different legal systems.
Law Without Walls
Although innovation and entrepreneurship aren’t the first words that come to mind when discussing the legal field, these areas are becoming increasingly important to legal practices the world over. Future lawyers need to be prepared to face multifaceted problems in a way that is efficient, dynamic, and creative.
Law Without Walls (LWOW) breaks down the barriers between law and business to form an innovative global community where students from both areas can combine their talents. IE University was proud to host the LWOW kick off last year, and is excited to be attending this year’s kick off at Harvard Law School in January. Two of our outstanding law students, Lukas Mansky and Sebastian Arnold, will be in attendance. The ConPosium, an event in which the best teams present their projects, will be hosted by the University of Miami in April. #GoingtoIEU wishes Lukas and Sebastian the best of luck as they embark on a truly remarkable experience!
Human Rights Moot Court Competition
This year, for the first time ever, IEU sent a team of students to the Human Rights Moot Court Competition, organized by ELSA (European Law Studies Association) in collaboration with the Council of Europe. In this competition, graduate and postgraduate law students from prestigious universities across Europe come to experience an international law simulation.
The team from IEU team was selected to move on to the oral phase at the European Court of Human Rights in Strasbourg. Only 20 of the 100 participating teams are selected to compete in Strasbourg, where our students will go head-to-head against teams from Oxford, Cambridge, London School of Economics, and Freiburg. We would like to congratulate students Ainhoa Busto, Calum Mcnaughton, and Justas Pangonis for their incredible achievement.
The oral round will be held from February 12th to the 15th in Strasbourg. Last year, the winning team came from the University of Cambridge. #GoingtoIEU will keep you posted on our achievements this year!
Feel free to share your thoughts and opinions with us. If you would like to learn more about the LL.B. or the BBA-LL.B. dual degree, please don’t hesitate to get in touch.
