Another successful edition of the Global Village!

Fondo logo E
At IE University, our passion for diversity is reflected in our student body. With 75 percent of our students coming from outside of Spain.

This rich diversity provides students the unparalleled opportunity to share their unique ideas and perspectives with their peers and professors, allowing them to grow into future-forward global leaders.

But it doesn’t stop there. At IE University, we also organize events that embrace and explore diversity beyond the classroom. One of these events is the Global Village, organized every year by the IE Net Impact Club and Campus Life to celebrate the value of diversity. The event, which took place on April 4, 2019, transformed the Law School campus into a vibrant and colorful community of individuals representing cultures from all over the world.

All proceeds from the event’s ticket sales will go towards the next Social Responsibility Forum, an international conference that the Net Impact Club will organize in the fall on the topic of corporate social responsibility.

Food, costumes, and dance

During the event, students got the opportunity to try exotic and tasty new foods from different countries, while sharing a favorite dish or snack from their own. However, they had to be careful not to eat too much! While dressed in their own country’s traditional costumes, many took the opportunity to show off their dance moves to share a dynamic part of their culture with others.

A community of cultures

Yet another year, the Global Village has been a huge success with a broad variety of countries represented, including Portugal, Italy, Lebanon, Spain, Chile, Peru, and Japan, among others! It follows the success of previous years, where students welcomed over a hundred countries to take part in this inclusive and exciting event.

Global Village IE

The IE University pillar of growth and change

For us at IE University, the Global Village event represents a very fundamental aspect of how we see the world—something that extends into our everyday lives. As our world continues to become more interconnected and technologically advanced, traditional borders and cultural barriers are challenged and broken down. Achieving success in this new dynamic, regardless of your sector, involves a high level of intercultural skills and broad, welcoming mindsets.

Global Village IE

Leaders of the future

We couldn’t be more proud of the many students who took part in this event and personified exactly what diversity means to us here at IE University. We are confident that experiences like this one will go far in tightening intercultural bonds and building strong leaders of the future who are able to drive lasting, positive change.

Diversity plays in an integral role in our identity at IE University. We recognize the importance of connecting with other students with different backgrounds and perspectives to better understand the globalizing workforce. Through a diverse student body and engaging events such as the Global Village, students at IE University are guaranteed an experience like no other—where they can grow, both professionally and personally, while preparing to tackle the obstacles of our fast-paced world.
