These days, launching your professional life is as much about confidence, creativity and adaptability as it is about résumés and job titles. And if that’s true, IE University students are strutting straight into the future in head-turning style.
Every year, the IE University career outcomes report gives us a front-row seat to where our grads go and how they get there. Spoiler: they’re not just landing jobs—they’re landing purpose, impact and yes, plenty of cool email signatures.
So grab your metaphorical passport—we’re about to tour the career outcomes of 2024.
First up, let’s meet the recruiters
IE University graduates aren’t just getting jobs—they’re getting the jobs. In the past year, alumni were hired by top global firms like Google, J.P. Morgan, McKinsey & Company, Amazon, L’Oréal (here’s a story about a student who landed a job at L’Oréal, by the way) and Warner Music. This isn’t a name-drop list—it’s a testament to how far IE grads can go, and how many doors they’re walking through.
This truly impressive spread is cutting across industries and continents:
Consulting
Grads cracked the case at McKinsey, Boston Consulting Group (BCG), Bain & Company and Deloitte. Whether they’re analyzing market entry strategies or leading digital transformation, they’re right where decisions are made and futures are shaped.
Finance
From trading floors to fintech hubs, alumni are driving value at Morgan Stanley, Citi and Bank of America Merrill Lynch. They’re not just watching the markets—they’re influencing them.
Tech
In today’s algorithm-driven economy, IEU talent is helping build the digital world at Salesforce, Samsung and of course, Google. Think AI, UX, cloud, data—graduates are fluent in all of it.
Global governance and impact
While some grads head to boardrooms, others head to the frontlines of global change. Alumni are working on social policy, sustainability and humanitarian strategy with the World Economic Forum (WEF), the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) and the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC).
Consumer & creative industries
For those with a flair for fashion, storytelling, and branding, the journey continues at L’Oréal, Procter & Gamble, LVMH, Walt Disney and Warner Music. From Stockholm to Seoul, they’re managing brands you’ve definitely binge-watched or bought.
Next: inside stories. What are grads saying?
Stats are solid, but stories spark connection. Here’s how three IE University alumni described their leap from campus life to career success:
“Living and learning in South Korea during my exchange showed me how to adapt fast and thrive in new environments. That and IE University’s hands-on approach—from Marketing Labs to shadowing professionals—helped me turn my ideas into action. I wasn’t learning business; I was living it.”
—Iriana Marmol, Commercial & Sales Graduate at DP World, Hamburg and former Dual Degree in Business Administration & Laws student.
“IE University challenged how I think, made me want to build to breakthrough. Every class pushed me to solve real problems, not just pass tests. I left with a global mindset, sharper business instincts and the confidence to grow a career in tech.”
—Ricardo Marcano Marin, Customer Growth Associate at Google, Dublin and former Dual Degree in Business Administration & International Relations student.
“From career fairs to coffee chats, my school gave me access to companies I never imagined approaching. Their support helped me connect the dots between who I am and where I want to go.”
—Ida Nydelius, Key Account & E-Commerce Manager at Procter & Gamble, Stockholm.
And where are they going?
From Spain to Switzerland, El Salvador to the UK, IE University students are launching careers that cross borders and industries. They’re building brands in France, shaping policy in Germany and coding futures in the USA. Others are sparking impact from Peru to Denmark, Austria, Egypt and Ireland—because when your education is global, your destination can be, too.
Experience starts early
Over 1,500 first- and second-year students have already joined pre-internship programs at IE University. Some shadow staff for a week. Others take on real projects or short-term gigs with companies. A few commit to all four years through the Young Corporate Program. It’s a low-stakes way to test things out—and a smart way to start figuring out what fits.
What about graduate school?
It’s still on the radar. While many head straight into the workforce, some alumni choose to continue their academic journey.
Popular choices?
The Master in Management, Finance and Real Estate Development topped the list—programs that blend analytical rigor with real-world application. Others dove into Law, International Relations and Marketing, honing expertise in areas that demand sharp thinking and global vision.
As for where they studied, IEU grads joined the academic elite at institutions like Cambridge University, Northwestern, London Business School, HEC, Sciences Po, St. Gallen and the National University of Singapore—plus many continued their journey at IE University itself.
Final boarding call
If IE University were a runway, this report is the takeoff log. Students arrive with ambition, and they depart with direction, equipped for a world that changes as fast as they do.
