The IEU Youth Leadership Summer Program is an intensive course designed to offer students in their final years of high school a unique opportunity to discover and develop their many talents. This program gives participants a chance to get to know IE University’s teaching methodology through a diverse range of lectures and workshops.

Last week, we held this year’s IEU Youth Leadership program on our Madrid and Segovia campuses. We are proud to say that the 43 students participating represented over 20 nationalities.

Despite having arrived to campus nervous and shy, students left with an international friend group. They also left campus knowing that IE University is the right choice for their future. What began as a fun and interesting program, ended as an eye-opening experience. Thanks to our classes on positive leadership, entrepreneurship, and human rights, students have challenged their worldview and taken a first step towards a promising professional career.

In the future, we will continue to grow the IEU Youth Leadership Summer Program to allow students the chance to further explore their academic interests. Rather than one week, the next edition will be two weeks in duration, from July 2nd till July 14th, 2017 (although these dates are subject to change).

The first week will deal with soft skills such as interpersonal communication, technology leadership, and emotional intelligence. The second week will offer several specialized tracks for the students to choose from. This additional week will allow the students to grow personally and professionally, and strengthen their emerging friendships. Not only will they have the opportunity to share wonderful experiences, but they will be able to experience what it is like to be a student at IE University.
