You can now go on a virtual tour of our campus

@Meagan Gardner

Our new online virtual tour features state-of-the-art technology to give you a never-before-seen picture of student life at IE.

If you’re a prospective student reading this right now, you may be from out of town (or country).  At IE, our students come from over 150 nations, making us one of the most diverse campuses on the planet. The only downside to this is that not everyone interested in IE University can experience a campus tour in person.  So we decided to bring the campus tour to you.

Our new online virtual tour features state-of-the-art technology to give you a never-before-seen picture of student life at IE.  Check it out!

How it works

Here’s a rundown of what you’ll see on our tour:

After watching an intro clip on the virtual tour homepage, the home screen will introduce you to the different icons and what they mean. We have split the tour into 8 different hot spot locations: the student hub, the library, two sample classrooms, team working spaces, study rooms, exhibition spaces and our personal favorite, the WOW Room.

When you arrive at each hot spot location, the landing page features quick facts on the left-hand side, colored circular icons in the middle and a “next” button on the right-hand side to take you to the following location. The circular icons in the middle of the page come in different colors and serve different functions.  Clicking on the purple icon will take you to the relevant homepages for each location, the orange icon will take you to a photo gallery and the pink icon will show you a short video clip.

And conveniently, on the blue bar at the bottom of the screen, you can request more information, get connected to our social media channels, share our virtual tour and adjust the screen size.

The WOW Room

We recommend that you take your time exploring our virtual WOW Room (location 8). Standing for Window on the World, the WOW Room is a physical space on IE’s campus with out-of-this-world capabilities. It’s truly a classroom of the future. The WOW Room is made up of 48 screens that “comprise a digital tapestry of 45 meters squared” forming the shape of the U and providing 200-degree view.  The WOW Room technology uses artificial intelligence, real-time simulations, big data analysis and more cutting-edge technology to transform the learning experience. It’s the first of its kind in Europe and one of the many aspects that make our campus unique.

Staying virtually connected at IE

At IE, diversity makes us who we are.  We are proud of our international student body and encourage our students to spend a semester abroad. We have partnered with 95 universities in 30 countries so that you can have the most exciting abroad experience possible.

With thousands of IE students (and alumni) flourishing all over the world, the importance of remaining connected is more vital than ever. The WOW Room and programs such as the virtual campus tour are just a few of our initiatives to connect students, teachers and ideas across the globe.

Driving innovation with our Data Science program

At IEU, we embrace the undeniable fact that technology is revolutionizing the world of learning. Whether it’s by giving virtual tours to prospective students, projecting holograms in the WOW Room, having video conferences with students studying in Hong Kong, or analyzing big data to change the way companies do business, using technology to drive innovation is an intrinsic part of everything we do.

If you’re interested in learning more about how you can use cutting-edge technology to connect humanity and transform the world, check out our Bachelor in DataScience. Our data scientists have played a massive role in the creation and evolution of the WOW Room. They’re also the geniuses behind our virtual tour, our marketing strategies, our web design and pretty much everything we do. This program is for anyone with a curious mind, critical thinking skills and motivation to understand how we can work with innovative technology to make the world a better place.
