I have spent my entire life in Mexico City, apart from the one year I studied abroad in the south of Germany. I started my university studies at a school in Mexico City, but I never felt fulfilled. I wanted to love what I was doing, not just feel satisfied. In my search for something more, I found IE University and I know I’ve made the right decision coming here.
What brought you to IE University?
My interest in all things economics, finance and politics runs deep. So, I knew I wanted to find a way to combine my passions—and when I found the Dual Degree in Economics and International Relations, I knew I had found the perfect program. The degree is just about perfect for me. And more than that, I love it here at IE University. The diverse environment, the incredible people, the challenging classes, it’s truly a wonderful experience that shapes you as a person.
Tell us about your IE Experience so far.
One of my favorite things about my program is the unique method used in the classroom. I love the hands-on approach, it helps keep me focused and interested. Outside the classroom, IE University is a full experience. The number of clubs available for students is unbelievable. You are guaranteed to find someone who shares your interests—there is a club for everyone. I joined the IE Football Club, IE Investment Club, IE Book Club, IE Latin American Club and a few more. Joining clubs is a great way to meet people, stay engaged and get involved.
How has IE University helped you grow both personally and professionally?
IE University has helped me boost my career opportunities in a variety of ways. The IE Talent & Careers team provides an excellent system to find internships, personal advice for boosting my resume and events for networking. More than just professional opportunities, IE University has given me a community of people who have helped me grow personally as well.
What hobbies do you have? What do you like doing in your day to day?
I love to watch and play football, play music and read a lot. I also enjoy spending time and going out with my friends. I usually spend my free time doing one of my hobbies and then going out to meet friends. Segovia is quite cozy, so there is always someone to see and it’s pretty easy to find something fun to do.
What path would you like to take in the future?
I am truly enjoying my time at IE University and am finding that the program is focused on preparing us for the professional world. In the future, I’d like to eventually work in finance. I’m interested in working for a bit post-graduation and then continuing my studies by pursuing a master’s degree. I try to live my day-to-day life by the advice of the following quote:
Accept it without arrogance, let it go with indifference.
