Carmen Pecharromán is a Bachelor’s in Communication alumna from IEU. Right after graduating, she started working for STMicroelectronics. We sat down with Carmen to learn more about her professional experience thus far, and what advice she may have for students likely to face similar recruitment processes.

How did you find out about this job opportunity?

Not even a month had passed after my graduation ceremony when I got this job, thanks to IE Career Portal, or more precisely, thanks to Victoria Tornos, who helped me throughout the entire job application process.

How did CMC and your IE experience help you during the recruiting process?

The Career Management Center helped me from the first step to the last. They gave me advice on how to build my CV, which jobs would best suit my needs, how to be a good interviewee… They were my 24/7 support team during my months of job searching. IEU provided me with the tools that enabled me to begin my new job with confidence in my abilities, rather than fear, inefficient skills, or poor initiative.

How was the recruiting process: stages, tests, interviews, etc?

My recruitment process for STMicroelectronics was quite fast and clear. Firstly, I applied to the position via IE Career Portal. After a month, I was told that I was pre-selected. During the following week, I had three interviews. After that, I was notified that I got the job and had to move to France in two weeks.

Would you want to share any tips, advice with current student interested in applying to?

So far, my experience at ST has been great. Their company culture, resources, my coworkers, and my actual position are incredible. Every aspect of ST has exceeded my expectations!
