Boosting Personal and Career Development with the Young Corporate Program

PPLE_student_Blagovesta_Mesheva

I’m a student of the Bachelor in Philosophy, Politics, Law and Economics, and I’m from Bulgaria. I like the way in which all the pillars of the program complement each other to enhance one’s understanding of the world and provide the knowledge required for effective problem resolution. I enrolled in the Young Corporate Program to help me explore my career possibilities and find which particular area I would like to work in and develop in the future.

Why did you choose to study your degree at IE University?

The Bachelor in Philosophy, Politics, Law and Economics is not a very common degree in universities. I chose it because of the diversity of this degree. Apart from that, I believe that IE University is a great choice for personal and career development—it offers so many unique opportunities to students.

How did you find out about the Young Corporate Program?

I found out about it through the IE Talent & Careers touchpoint webinar, which took place during the first semester last year.

Which company are you currently working with, and in which department?

I’m working with Futuro Perfecto, a company which supports innovation by helping clients obtain EU funding. I hope to contribute to the success of the company and develop my financial, project management and legal skills. I’m interested in working in the fundraising and project management departments of the company.

Can you explain briefly what you are doing, and what phase of the program you’re currently in?

I’m currently at the mentoring stage of the program, during which I attend meetings with the employees and CEO, and complete personal development and exploration tasks which they assign to me. The tasks are mainly aimed at providing me with knowledge about the company and helping me decide which sector I would like to work in.

Do you have any suggestions for students who would like to join the Young Corporate Program?

I would advise them to go through the website of each company carefully, in order to find the company that best suits their interests. This will maximize their experience and development in the Young Corporate Program.

What quote represents the Young Corporate Program to you?

Success isn’t about being the best. It’s about always getting better.
