Now, don’t you worry about wasting valuable time sniffing out that one ideal spot because we’ve gone and done it for you! Have a look below and find your favorite. But remember, once you do – don’t tell anyone!

Where to study in Segovia

1. La Diligencia 35

Where: Paseo Conde de Sepulveda, 35

Hours: Monday – Friday 7:30 am – 1:30 am. Saturday and Sunday 9:00 am – 1:30 am

A short 20-minute walk from the university, this one’s for the study-eaters among us. La Diligencia has some of the best food around with breakfasts under €2 in the mornings and a huge variety of pinchos available throughout the day. We recommend getting there early and taking advantage of a peaceful, distraction-free morning.

2. Media Studio – The Oven

Where: Calle del Cardenal Zúñiga, 12

Of course some of the best spots can be found right under our noses! The Oven is a charming, cozy spot for communication students (complete with lounge chairs and a large blackboard for brainstorming sessions), situated right inside the 13th-century convent that we call home. Get those creative juices flowing in this fantastic on-campus space!

3. Pastelería Limón y Menta

Where: Calle Isabel la católica, 2

Hours: Monday – Friday 9:00 am – 9:30 pm. Saturday and Sunday 9:00 am – 8:30 pm.

Wake up and smell the lemon and mint! With an incredible selection of sweet things to keep those sugar levels up while you work away, this café is a great place to dive into those books nose first!

IE Universidad Segovia

4. Student Hub

Where: Calle del Cardenal Zúñiga 12

In this calming environment of modern wooden slats with light peeking through you can meet with people to discuss projects or study silently on your own. With chairs made out of planks dotted about the place, and sleek, spacious desks, you’re sure to find your inner Einstein here. And what’s more, along with 166 other on-campus locations, spaces here can be booked through the on-campus library service so you’ll never have to worry about sitting next to Mr. Elbows.

5. Casa de la Química

Where: Plaza La Reina Victoria Eugenia, Alcazar

Hours: Monday – Sunday 10:00 am – 9:00 pm.

Another quintessential Spanish place but this time – with a view to kill. Who wouldn’t be able to get sucked into the books in such an area with the ancient cathedral just next door?

6. Biblioteca Pública de Segovia

Where: Calle de los Procuradores de la Tierra

Hours: Monday – Friday 9:00 am – 9:00 pm. Saturday 9:00 am – 2:00 pm. Closed Sunday.

Stepping away from the university (but not too far), feel free to use one of the public libraries available. If you need to clear and focus your mind in a space free of the uni hubbub, this is the place to go! It is easily accessible by the line 14 bus and, of course, offers plenty of resources (including wifi).

7. La Colonial

Where: Avenida Fernandez Ladreda, 19

Hours: Monday – Friday 8:00 am – 11:30 pm. Saturday and Sunday 8:00 am – 1:00 am.

Smack bang in the center of the old town – let the ancient city be your muse. With the vibrant red interior and the typical Spanish vibe, here you can indulge in a gooey piece of chocolate cake with a café con leche while the locals and the tourists go about their day.

Plaza Mayor Segovia

8. Campus cafeteria

Where: Calle del Cardenal Zúñiga, 12

The campus cafeteria—which was the last edition to the convent—is a beautiful mix of iron and stone. With good wifi (as with anywhere on campus), coffee, and even the option of vegetarian meals, this is a place for thinking out loud, bouncing ideas about and watching how they land.

9. Fab Lab

Where: Calle del Cardenal Zúñiga, 12

For you architecture and design students, this sleek space kitted out with computers, desks, and, not to mention, beautiful stonework to keep you inspired, will become a home away from home (while you learn how to build someone else’s).

10. Unseasonable Bookstore Café

Where: Calle Teodosio el Grande, 10

Hours: Sunday and Monday – closed. Tuesday – Saturday 10:00 am – 2:00 pm, 5:00 pm – 9:00 pm

There’s something warm and satisfying about studying among books with a nice camomile infusion. In this cozy bookshop-turned-coffeeshop you’ll find exactly that. This place is a wealth of culture; a breath of literary fresh air – a place for the more refined, contemplative student to hone their mind.
