She works as a financial affairs advisor at the United Nations in New York. She says IE University’s open mindset is what taught her not only to take in but to appreciate and value different ideas.
Mickela’s original ambition was to become a diplomat. But over her four years at IE University, the wide variety of internships available gave her access to a number of professional experiences. In the end, she decided a career as a diplomat wasn’t for her. Instead, she would like to create an education-based NGO dealing with social and emotional well-being. Her current role keeps her busy with meetings and reports but when she does have a moment, she enjoys dancing, theater, cinema, and ice skating.
