Fashion has always been a form of rebellion stitched into beauty. At its best, it’s a declaration—of self, of vision, of tomorrow. And no one understands that better than the next generation of designers. While the global runways of Paris and Milan might dominate the headlines, a different kind of creative revolution is happening where you’d least expect: in the lecture halls, studios and, most recently, the catwalks of IE University.
This year’s IE University fashion show wasn’t just a college fashion show—it was a celebration of experimentation, purpose and the sheer thrill of making ideas wearable. Hosted by the IE School of Architecture & Design, the Bachelor in Fashion Design Runway put young creators center stage, and the results were anything but amateur.
Nature, nostalgia and nerve: A front-row seat to the designs of creative minds
The IE University fashion show was more than a final project. It was a hands-on, high-stakes showcase where fashion students transformed their classroom concepts into walkable, wearable stories. From textured earth tones to bold silhouettes, each look told a tale—of materials, of meaning, of meticulous work behind the seams.
Agustina Tolosa Picasso: Sacred woods and second chances
One of the standout stars of the night was Agustina Tolosa Picasso, whose work explored the quiet poetry of nature. “I started out nervous, a bit overwhelmed, but the moment I saw my model step onto the runway, everything fell into place,” she shared.
With her collection Bosque Sagrado, the student invited the audience into a forest of layered textures and upcycled materials. The project’s name—“Sacred Forest”—reflected its ethereal blend of natural elements and symbolism.
“I mixed a lot of textures and layers to reflect how nature feels, not just how it looks.”
Her garments played with light and form, referencing leaves, roots, and the calm chaos of the wild. “At first, I was overwhelmed. But the moment I saw my model step onto the runway, everything fell into place.”
The judges agreed: Agustina was one of two students awarded a prestigious scholarship in recognition of her innovation and craftsmanship.
Her advice to future students? “Keep sewing, keep designing, keep creating—you’ll get there.”
Isabel Guerra Bradley: The shape of silence
With La forma del silencio—“The Shape of Silence”—Isabel Guerra Bradley crafted a collection that felt both minimalist and deeply expressive. Inspired by moments of reflection and the unspoken, her pieces explored structure through stillness.
“I felt confused at first. Honestly, I wasn’t sure I could pull it off,” she admitted.
“[But] being around other creatives inspired me to push through.”
The result? A bold, emotive collection that fused classic forms with modern flair. “We inspire each other. That’s what makes this program special.” Her words to those just starting out in the Bachelor in Fashion Design? “You’re here because you love fashion. It won’t always be easy, but it’ll be worth it.”
Candela Hernández: Stitching memory into movement
El Sentir de la Memoria, presented by Candela Hernández, was as personal as it was polished. Translating to “The Feeling of Memory,” her designs wove emotion and nostalgia into every silhouette.
“We began with a theme close to our hearts,” she explained. “From there, it’s about experimenting—trying out different fabrics, playing with silhouettes and refining the vision until it clicks.” For her, the real magic was in watching her designs move from sketchbook to spotlight.
Like Agustina, Candela earned a scholarship for her work. Proof that, paired with a strong point of view, hard work gets noticed.
“Seeing the models wear our pieces… it’s surreal. This is how you grow—and get your name out there.”
A college fashion show that’s redefining fashion education
What makes the Bachelor in Fashion Design Runway unique isn’t just the quality of the work—it’s the process behind it. We encourage students to dive headfirst into every stage of the fashion journey: research, sketching, pattern-making, sewing, and finally, presenting a fully-formed collection on a professional runway. It’s immersive, intense, and a little bit magical.
But perhaps the best part? They don’t do it alone. “We all helped each other out,” said Agustina. “There was this sense of shared purpose—like we were building something bigger than just our individual pieces.”
This collaborative spirit is core to IE University’s creative philosophy: one that combines rigor with imagination, and freedom with purpose.
Where bold ideas get tailored into careers
At IE University, fashion design isn’t learned in theory—it’s lived. Through studio time, mentorship and real-world showcases like this one, students turn raw talent into industry-ready skill. They learn how to build a brand, pitch a concept, and—yes—handle a last-minute sewing crisis like a pro.
