Nitida Diaz Pastor describes the Bachelor in Business Administration as a “different” kind of academic experience. One she wouldn’t have had in most other universities.
Having lived in Spain, the UK, the US and Germany, global settings feel natural to her. But IE Business School offered something new: a place where learning happens through practical application. And where people from all over the world collaborate towards a shared purpose.
Today, Nitida is the marketing manager at Fever, a multinational entertainment and technology company based in Spain. She leads global strategies, works with notable names like Netflix, and manages teams across multiple marketing disciplines.
We sat down with her to find out how the Bachelor in Business Administration prepared her for such a successful global marketing career.
A unique approach to learning
Nitida remembers the Bachelor in Business Administration as a program that taught her how to think, not what to memorize. Since the first year, she and her classmates were encouraged to take a hands-on approach in everything from lessons to discussions to teamwork. This built a confidence that’s been invaluable in her career.

“We were the owners of our own projects,” she says. “That made us fully commit to what we were presenting and be completely informed and prepared.”
Nitida points to her final thesis project, which involved creating her own company, as a perfect example. Her first instinct was to ask faculty members for help, but eventually, she realized that she already had all the knowledge and confidence she needed. “As my professor told me, ‘You’re the one who knows most about this topic.’”
The program’s practical nature taught a skill set that has value far beyond the classroom. Nitida still leans on that same mindset to run complex projects and guide high-level decisions as marketing strategy manager in a fast-growing entertainment company. “Ownership and accountability are important things I learned in the program. You have to be responsible for your own tasks, because if you don’t do it, no one else will,” she shares.
Becoming career-ready
“You need to build that confidence in yourself that you have the skills you need.”
The ‘learning by doing’ philosophy also strengthened Nitida’s analytical skills. She explains, “In the finance courses, for example, we weren’t really studying the books; we were focused on understanding the problem and thinking through different ways to get out of it.”

This emphasis on application enables her to stay agile in a quickly evolving sector where the technology of today may not be the same tomorrow. Her job as marketing manager requires Nitida to work with performance metrics, testing strategies and forecasting outcomes every day. Through the Bachelor in Business Administration, she’s been able to combine technical knowledge with an analytical mindset to become a professional who can adapt to new situations and find new ways of solving problems.
Creativity, communication and confidence
Another skill that’s shaped Nitida’s career trajectory is creativity. But for her, creativity didn’t just come from coursework. It came from IE Business School’s diverse environment, where she teamed up with peers from all over the world.

The mix of cultures and backgrounds sparked new ideas she may never have encountered at a traditional university. “It was very enriching to work with people who were thinking totally opposite things from me, and try to combine those approaches into one.” She says this diversity helped her see problems from many points of view, strengthening her ability to seek creative solutions.
“The think-outside-the-box mindset has really helped me in my professional life.”
Now, working at a company that includes teams in different countries and global markets, Nitida is grateful for how IE Business School exposed her to diverse cultures and viewpoints. When collaborating with international marketing teams on cross-border campaigns or events, she now has the broad perspective to lead effectively, despite the mix of backgrounds and perspectives.

Nitida’s projects involve directing multiple units across the company, from influencers to Google specialists and PR and TikTok pros.
“I’m coordinating all of these different teams to execute our strategy,” she says, which, again, draws on the sense of ownership, accountability and confidence she cultivated in the Bachelor in Business Administration.
A global mindset that lasts a lifetime
Reflecting on what she learned at IE Business School, Nitida values her technical strategy, data analysis, and business management knowledge as much as the soft skills she has developed in leadership, communication and problem-solving. However, she says the most lasting impacts have come from the diverse, international environment.
For Nitida, the IE Experience was more than just a degree. Rather, it shaped how she sees the world and approaches every challenge.
“It opened my eyes to the world and gave me this global overview, and I think I’m going to have that forever.”
Learning alongside people from different cultures also shaped her mindset. The experience taught her to communicate and collaborate with empathy and openness.
What would tell she someone considering enrolling in the Bachelor in Business Administration? Nitida has clear and simple advice: visit the campus, talk to current students, explore the courses and make sure this is the program you’re looking for.
If you want a hands-on, dynamic program in an international environment, this one’s for you.

Her final words for future IE Business School students? Be ready to grow. “Learn as you go. You’re learning by doing, and that’s the best approach.”
